【About ASTIER de VILLATTE】
Astier de Villatte, known for its ceramics coated in white glaze, is a brand founded in 1996 by Ivan Pericoli and Benoît Astier de Villatte, creators of furniture, ceramics, objects, fragrances, and books.
Astier de Villatte's ceramics, featuring black Parisian suburban clay with a pure white glaze, are "Made in Paris" vessels crafted by skilled artisans in their workshops within the city. Drawing inspiration from traditional 19th-century pottery, and adding a twist to sculpting techniques learned at the Beaux-Arts school, their creations exude a dignified presence, like a canvas highlighting food or paintings.

The bottom of the ceramics is engraved with the brand's logo, the intertwining letters A and V, and the initials of the artisan who made it. Additionally, some products may have three spots where the glaze appears chipped, which are traces from the stand used to fire the ceramics after glazing. These are not considered defects. Please note that there is no "Tokyo Jukko" engraving.
To ensure long-lasting use, please observe the following precautions:
・Avoid using in microwave ovens and ovens. Sudden temperature changes can cause crazing (cracks) and damage.
・Handwashing is recommended, but if using a dishwasher, wash at a water temperature of 55°C or less to avoid affecting the glaze.
・When using a dishwasher, please use phosphate-free detergent.
・When handwashing, use a soft sponge and dish soap. Avoid using hard scrub brushes, metal scrubbers, or abrasives, as they may cause scratches.
Variations in glaze, slight warping or wobbling, and asymmetry are characteristics of the product. Please note that returns or exchanges based on these features or qualities will not be accepted. Additionally, there may be differences in the application of glaze between the product photos and the actual product delivered, but these are considered individual differences within the range of good quality products, and returns or exchanges for this reason will not be accepted.
