Ave Maria Senoo Music Score No. 158 _Yumeji Takehisa Binding _June 1924, 5th Edition

No. 158 of "Ave Maria," published by Senoo Music Publishing, features a beautiful image of the Virgin Mary drawn by Yumeji Takehisa, who gained immense popularity for his美人画 (bijin-ga: paintings of beautiful women).

【About Yumeji Takehisa (1884-1934)】Yumeji Takehisa was a Japanese painter and poet. His real name was Shigejiro Takehisa. He left behind numerous bijin-ga, and his lyrical works were known as "Yumeji-style beauties." He was a representative painter of Taisho Romance, and was called the "Ukiyo-e artist of Taisho." He also worked on illustrations for children's magazines and poetry.

【Senoo Music Score】A series of sheet music primarily for songs, published by Senoo Music Publishing, founded by Koyo (Kojiro) Senoo from the Taisho period to the early Showa period. Many of the covers were designed by Yumeji Takehisa, which was one of the reasons for the emergence of Yumeji fans. However, other prominent painters of the time, such as Hisui Sugiura, Kuro Okada, and Shiro Horiuchi, also contributed illustrations. Additionally, a rabbit mark designed by Yumeji was adopted as the series mark for Senoo Music Score.
