WE LOVE! [Marukawa Teshigoto]
About a five-minute drive from Toyokawa Inari in Aichi Prefecture, in a corner of the once bustling Ushikubo shopping arcade, is our favorite place, Marukawa Teshigoto.
This shop, which took a year to carefully renovate a 150-year-old Meiji-era building that had been closed for many years, has a nostalgic, warm welcome to all who visit. The interior, created by veteran carpenter Shin-chan and sales specialist Etchan-nee, is a mix of old and new, with storage fixtures that perfectly maintain harmony in the interior, and even the layout and colors of the items are carefully considered.
Storage and miscellaneous goods made with care to fit your lifestyle
Marukawa Handicrafts offers a wide range of products , including semi-custom-made storage furniture made by skilled craftsmen, original wooden boxes and frames, and dead stock items from the shopping district.
The storage items, which are handcrafted one by one, are simple yet exude a unique, warm texture. By utilizing the natural flaws and roughness of the wood, and even the holes in the joints, as part of the design, a truly "living storage" is created that blends naturally into any home, new or old.
Their goal is to revive a once bustling shopping street and create new value that fits into modern life while respecting the history of the old buildings. This passion is apparent in every corner of the store.
We also have a glimpse of our products, including Vietnamese goods and rugs.
Marukawa Teshigoto also sells our products. The Buddha Machine mysteriously harmonizes with the lacquerware and tableware, and the large rugs are lined up nicely. The charm of the Buddha Machine that the music-loving sister talks about is deep and interesting...!
While rolling around on the wooden floor It's a luxurious experience to listen to and compare different Buddha Machines.
You too can have a special encounter at Marukawa Handicrafts.
When we set up a stall at a special event, we are often asked, "Do you have a store?"
You'll find attractive products at Marukawa Handicrafts that have a different atmosphere from our POPUP.
Please come and visit us sometime.
